Talented basket weavers in northern Ghana's Bolgatanga region weave tough elephant grass, also known as veta vera grass, into timeless storage baskets that serve beautifully in every room of the home. The weavers dip half of each strand in dye, creating a beautiful ombre pattern when the strands are woven together.
Responsibly sourced and thoughtfully crafted with local elephant grass by Fair Trade artisans in Ghana. Starting from a small woven circle, Ghanaian basket weavers excel at transforming the tough grass fiber into iconic baskets as they work their way out from a central point to reveal beautiful, distinctive baskets.
